I had always been daunted by the prospect of going in house with school meals when the governors began talking about it back in 2008. With FSO support and encouragement I have now become a committed in-house ambassador.

I would never have imagined we would be at this point we are now, thinking about sending out meals to other schools.

FSO have given us advice on staffing, training, menus and equipment and been prepared to give necessary support to any level. Knowing you are there to support us whenever we need it is vital to us educational specialists who don't know one end of a spatula from another.

I write with pleasure to recommend the services of Food Service Options (FSO) whom Our Lady's RC Sports College appointed as our dedicated catering partners / advisers prior to commencing our self managed catering in September 2006.

We have been delighted with the service and support they have given school, not only since their appointment, but most importantly during the advisory period prior to commencing the contract. Our Lady's had been contracted to the Local Authority's catering service for many years and there were some reasoned doubts about becoming self-managed, however these were quickly dispelled with FSO's professional approach in guiding school towards the launch date.

FSO have provided mandatory training for all the catering team to ensure we maintain the standards promoted by the School Food Trust.

Naturally, there has to be financial accountability for the above and I am able to confirm the school's catering financial performance has improved significantly over our first years trading, which reflects good management by ourselves and the benefits that FSO's suite of food partners provide.
