Dukefield Foodservice Sponsor Romero MAC Sports Competition

Dukefield Foodservice have been working with the Romero Multi Academy Company (MAC) now for over 3 years, providing a complete support infrastructure for their in-house catering team across all of the 8 schools. As part of this on-going partnership, Dukefield Foodservice sponsored the Romero MAC Sports Competition Day.

The event started in the morning with a netball competition between some of the MAC’s primary schools – Good Shepard, Sacred Heart, St Patrick’s, St John Fisher, and St Gregory’s. This was followed up in the afternoon by a football tournament which ended in an exciting penalty shootout. The event was held at the Romero MAC’s secondary school – Cardinal Wiseman. As the pupils competing were year 6 age group, it gave them the opportunity to visit the Secondary school where some of them will be attending next year. It was also lovely to see the Secondary school pupils engaging with their teachers from the primary schools that they had previously attended.

Susan Morris, Chief Executive of Dukefield Foodservice and Sarah Dungar, Dukefield Group Marketing Manager were in attendance on the day to present the trophies and the medals to the winners of each competition. Susan highlighted “We were delighted to support the Romero MAC with this event, being involved on the day also meant we could see the hard work the children put into the competition. They played especially well considering it was such a hot day.”

Susan and the Dukefield Foodservice team work closely with the Romero MAC on all areas of their catering. Helping provide healthy and nutritious school meals to pupils through compliant food contracts. Patrick Taggart, Director of Operations for the Romero MAC added “We have really felt the benefit of working with Dukefield Foodservice from the initial transition of taking the catering in-house to where we are today, they are an extension of our team and are always on hand to offer advice and guidance. The sponsorship of the event demonstrates their commitment to supporting the Romero MAC. Being able to provide the children with trophies and medals as a result of the sponsorship has made it really worthwhile for the schools taking part. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Dukefield Foodservice and the wider Dukefield Group.”
